The Secretariat to the North Western Waters Advisory Council is decided upon every three years. Bord Iascaigh Mhara (BIM), the Irish Sea Fisheries Board, currently hosts the secretariat.
BIM is the Irish State agency with responsibility for developing the Irish Sea Fishing and Aquaculture industries. BIM was established under the Sea Fisheries Act 1952 and provides a range of services including advisory, financial, technical, marketing and training supports to all sectors of the Irish seafood industry. BIM has offices throughout Ireland and also in France, Spain and Germany.
